Lincoln Community Foundation Supports Fieldhaven

On April 16th, 2023, the FieldHaven Feline Center held a low-cost vaccine and microchip clinic at FieldHaven Marketplace on F Street in downtown Lincoln, California. This clinic was made possible in part by the ARPA funds distributed by the Lincoln Community Foundation, which aimed to provide assistance to local non-profit organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The clinic featured low-cost rabies and distemper shots for both cats and dogs, as well as free microchipping for Lincoln residents. FieldHaven’s mission is to provide solutions for cats in need, and this clinic was just one example of their commitment to that mission.

According to Joy Smith from FieldHaven, “We are often presented with situations where owners need help for their pets while they get over one of life’s hurdles. Giving up their pets is not the answer, so we are here to help provide a safety net until life is back in order and they can be together again. I am so grateful the city of Lincoln and Lincoln Community Foundation reached out to us to help.”

The ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act of 2021) is a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus package that was signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11, 2021, to provide relief and support for Americans and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The act included several provisions that aimed to provide assistance to local nonprofits across the United States.

The Lincoln Community Foundation played a crucial role in supporting this clinic, distributing over one hundred and ninety-five thousand dollars to local organizations such as Fieldhaven Feline Center, Lincoln Police Activities League, The Lincoln Jr. Zebras, The Lions Club of Lincoln, Kiwanis Club Of Lincoln, Silver Wishes, and many other local Lincoln nonprofits. This is a testament to the foundation’s commitment to making a positive impact on the local community.

Overall, this low-cost vaccine and microchip clinic was a huge success, and it would not have been possible without the support of the Lincoln Community Foundation and the dedication of the FieldHaven Feline Center. We look forward to seeing more events like this in the future and the positive impact they will have on the community.
