Warrior’s Soul

Our nonprofit spotlight this month focuses on Warrior’s Soul, a Lincoln nonprofit that was started in November 2010 that has been serving children, families, and individuals from the Lincoln community since their inception with Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) activities.

Over the years, Warrior’s Soul has focused on active and non-active military and their families due to their proximity to Beale Airforce Base, however, they have also worked extensively with local children and their families, including youth from local charter schools. In recent years, Warrior’s Soul has shifted their focus to working with local at-risk youth as they’ve identified a significant area of need with this population. Currently this includes serving teens through the Granite Wellness Program and the Koinonia residential treatment program.

There’s a lot happening in the coming weeks that we wanted to share with our community. On April 22nd, from 10am – 12pm, Warrior’s Soul is hosting a group event called Strength Together. This event is partially funded with grant dollars from the Lincoln Community Foundation and is free for attendees. This is a group for parents and focuses on building community amongst parents and caregivers with the goal of helping them know that they are not alone. It is also intended to be a resource for generating ideas about moving through parenting struggles, associated stress management, etc. This is an introductory group to garner interest in future gathering on a consistent basis.

On May 18th, Warrior’s Soul will be hosting the Real Change Warriors event from 5:30 – 7:00pm. This is in conjunction with the Be Bold CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program and will include approximately 12 girls and their CASA workers with a focus on facilitating connection and insight through EAL activities. This event will also be partially funded with grant dollars from the LCF.
